Running with the kids

It’s another scorcher today. I didn’t run until 10:00 am because of a glorious morning of sleeping in. Reinhardt and I went out last night and enjoyed dinner with friends so it was nice to sog in bed until after nine.
I took my oldest with me on my run this morning. She stays in pretty good shape due to an excellent school physical education program. It was already inching up to 70 degrees when we got to the Large section of the Montour trail.

She complained a little, but she stayed with me the whole time. She is pretty tough and has run several 5Ks, but has only run further one other time when I lied to her about the distance. When she asked how far we were going today I just said “we will see”. I’m sure it was super difficult because I was dropping 10:30 miles. Woohoo!

I was still stinking sore from my leg workout two days ago. Really pathetic! We ended up running a little over 4 miles. It was a good bonding moment and we had a chance to talk about all the crazy changes we are going to be going through this year.

Happy Friday

Apparently my leg workout from yesterday was effective because I’m sore as hell. Here is yesterday’s workout.

I ran outside by myself this morning. It is gorgeous out. Since my legs hurt the most going downhill I purposely added a shit-ton of uphills and over a mile to avoid the longest downhills.

I won’t make any excuses for my slowness. Besides my leg soreness and speeding vehicles I had a wonderful run today. Felt pretty dang good!

In my next life I want to run from my house with out risking life and limb. Sidewalks or even an adequate shoulder would be awesome!

My garden is growing wonderfully. The bugs love me for growing food for them.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
