Happy New Year! It’s crazy how fast 2012 passed. We had a very exciting holiday this year with the arrival of our new baby.
Alric was born on December 22nd healthy and handsome.
We are very excited to have him here and I am excited to get back to serious running.
I started the streak today with just one mile at a 12 minute pace. I streaked for 254 days last year before the pregnancy knocked me out energy wise. I am only 10 days postpartum so I want to ease in. Cardiovascular-wise I feel great, but there is some healing to be done elsewhere.
I got a pretty cool Christmas present this year. Reinhardt had this made for me. I love it. I can’t wait to add some more medals to it!
I have yet to figure out my goal races for this year, but most likely there will be a June marathon. It will either be the North Olympic Discovery Marathon (which is the 1st marathon I ever ran) or Rock and Roll Seattle. I’m not sure what else I’ll do, but I’d like to focus on trails. Of course I’d also like a 5K PR. I’ll hammer out more solid goals after I’ve look at race calendars.
I only made one successful goal last year. I ran Glacier Ridge. I also ran Pittsburgh, but much slower than my goal pace. I didn’t meet my other goals because of my surprise pregnancy, but it was still a very successful year with 1234 miles ran.

So great to get an update from you! Welcome baby Alric! So adorable!
Happy New Year, Serena!
