Today I found freedom in the only way a mother of four can. I ran out the door leaving my poor husband to hold the fort. I drove fifteen minutes to the north Kitsap heritage park and spread my wings.
I’ve done some hiking here before but I’d never been too far in. I took the spine line trail until it terminated at a waste water treatment plant. I was supposed to do six miles, but since it was the first real trail run I’d done since the baby was born I wasn’t going to be anal about it.
My husband has asked me what I think about when I’m running and I honestly couldn’t tell him. I know I solve problems when I’m running, but a lot of the time my mind is quiet and I’m almost in a meditative or trance like state. When I’m on the trails my mind is at its most peaceful and I am able to take in the beauty around me focus on just me. I feel powerful, young and free. Ahhhh!
I ran a little over five miles and it was pretty dang hilly. I came home with tired legs and a happy heart.
This weeks recap
Monday: 3 miles TM legs
Tuesday: 3 miles TM

You look great and that looks beautiful! I am ready for this dang snow to be gone so I can spread my wings
What a pretty trail! That looks like a nice soft surface to run on. And good job on the five miles!
Kind of random, but I like your human verification system – dragging a puzzle piece into a larger picture is way more fun than trying to decipher the word verifications!
