Wow you have awesome records Serena! I can only hope to accomplish as much as you have. You’re an inspiration!!
Hi!
I was at Glacier ridge ultra with my boyfriend and was actually signed up to run it along with him. I ended up with a DNS partly because I had broken my right ankle and then my left foot in consecutive months (Dec, Jan) and then found out I was pregnant in March and I basically chickened out. I was wondering if you had ever done an ultra while pregnant/what are your thoughts on doing an ultra while pregnant?
Wow you’ve had a rough time! I believe in running while pregnant absolutely. I ran through two of my pregnancies and it made me stronger, fitter and better. The longest I ever ran while pregnant was 12 miles. I am not against more than that-that is just the point I started having contractions so I stopped. I would run however far I could while pregnant. I don’t think I would set a limit it just really depends on how your pregnant body responds to the mileage and obviously the intensity should be lower than you would run regularly. Good luck in your running and your pregnancy!
