Today I participated in a 6-hour run put on by the Greater Pittsburgh Road Runners. I did the run last year although last year I wasn’t pregnant and I didn’t have to work.
Last year I ran the whole 6 hours and tied for 2nd place with 33 and 3/4 miles. This year I stuck around for a little over two hours.
The course is a hilly 1 1/4 mile loop that runners complete as many times as possible in the six hours. I ran 10 miles. It was a beautiful and cool morning and I felt really good.
Ten miles is the furthest I’ve run since the marathon. The hills tired out my legs, but besides that it was a great run.
Happy National Running Day! I celebrated with a beautiful 5 miler this morning. I headed for the Montour trail with Will in the stroller. It was beautiful and cooler than it has been and it was perfect running weather.
I also had my first ever run with my sweet new app!
I don’t normally run with entertainment so this was a pleasant and fun change of pace. I really enjoyed the storyline and the sound quality was eerily good. Basically you the runner are a character in this story about a zombie outbreak. It is almost like being in a video game. You outrun zombie hoards and collect supplies for the survivors while trying to get to a safe place. I can’t wait until my next run outside to continue the mission.
